So, its been a great weekend. A fantastic curry at Elin & Ola’s Friday, Beef Lyonnais at Roger’s Saturday followed by a crazy party at Johan’s where he had some tasty dates wrapped in bacon as well as some sticky, icky sweet honey rum drinks which were great! To cap off the weekend I received a late birthday present ‘A Day at El Bulli’, the book rather than the experience, on first glance its a tome and a half, beautifully designed with some fantastic images but its going to take me a while to get into it, its an unmanageable size for bedtime reading. I’ll now leave you with ‘When Ricky met Larry‘ two of my favorite comedy writers in the same room together, I can’t believe I missed it first time around but then again maybe it never made it to Swedish TV or I was out..

So, Thursday night the office took dinner at Riche as ever a fantastic time was had by all but the conversation somehow after two bottles of wine came round to deep frying things and drunk food. It turns up where Erik is from in the north of Sweden (Skellefteå) they like to wrap a hamburger, fries calzone style in a pizza with ham, cheese and tomato sauce and bake it - if you are ever up north you can ask for a ‘Calskrove‘. 95 Kr and 1500 Calories. Well could I top this? How about deep frying, nearly anything fatty, meaty or sweet works in a deep fat fryer. So lets get into some serious deep fat frying, one girls first DF snickers, a DF pizza and finally a reminder not to drop your spit cup in the hot grease. This weekend, Bite Club kicked off and the first rule about Bite Club is not to talk about itI should not forget to mention King magazines newish food blog Gastronauten.
